Fuel Efficient Charcoal Stoves – Made from Car Bonnets!

It was hot and humid when we got there and it took what seemed like ages to walk through a sea of scrap metal, some in various stages of transformation into alternative forms of re-use.

MyWeku’s mission was to track down the production base of one of three green or fuel efficient charcoal stoves we had spotted for sale in a shop at Ghana’s Makola Market. The other two were a tyre rim grill and a tyre rim gas grill.

White Rastafarians?

When you think about the word “Rastafarian”, you probably imagine a Jamaican man with dark skin and dreadlocks… as a matter of fact, you probably think about Bob Marley. This wouldn’t be an inappropriate association, after-all, Bob Marley is probably the most internationally recognized practitioner of Rastafari. However, not all rastas these days are from Jamaica, and there is even a small but growing population of Caucasian practitioners. No, I’m not talking about teenaged skateboarders who smoke marijuana and listen to reggae music; I’m talking about real, deeply religious, white rastas. Now, depending on how much you know about Rastafari, you’re either wondering, “How does a White person join the Rasta faith?” or you’re wondering, “What’s the big deal?”. I think it may be wise to first address the latter.

South Africa World Cup 2010 Destinations – Johannesburg

During the months of June and July, football fans from all over the world will be heading to the bustling South African city of Johannesburg in order to watch the 2010 FIFA World Cup tournament. Johannesburg is one of nine cities in which 2010 FIFA World Cup matches will be played, but it stands out as a host venue for two important reasons. Firstly, it will be the only one of the nine cities to use two stadiums during the tournament, meaning that it will attract football fans who want to see as much as the action as possible. Secondly, the 2010 FIFA World Cup Final will be played there.

Re:

Some time ago, I really needed to buy a good house for my corporation but I did not have enough cash and could not order something. Thank goodness my colleague proposed to try to take the mortgage loans from trustworthy creditors. Thus, I acted so and used to be happy with my bank loan.

Africa: Spice of our planet earth.

One lovely day, towards dawn, i paused to take a look at the sky which covered our blessed continent. the clouds kept 'swelling' as they seemed to be 'encircling' Africa; in honour of the cradle of mankind, the mother of civilization, the continent that is lush with green and full of cultural heritage. Africa, the birth place of warriors. I saw the vigour of the Zulus, the Pride of the Massai's, the gold in Ashanti and the wisdom in Timbuktu.
We are a unique breed, one with rich ancestry, inbred values, a spectacular history, a wounded past, a progressing present and an uplifting cum restoring future. we have a challenge; despite the age we are in or the changes and evolutions going on, we should not let these 'fade' our rich culture away. For example as we are learning english, let us not forget that it's our second or third language; our African languages should be preserved and spoken. This 'Activation' and 'living of our culture' is what makes us truly African. This is what differentiates us......this is what makes us the SPICE of our planet. Long live Africa, Long live our wonderful culture!!!!!!!!!!
